The following provisions took effect on January 1, 2018. They aim to ensure our objectivity, our scientific rigour and our commercial independence, three core values ​​of The Running Clinic.

 

A. The shareholders of The Running Clinic

  • Shall not receive any benefit, in the form of remuneration, services or products relating to running from any company. This provision includes but is not limited to footwear, medical or sports equipment, clothing and food products.
  • May participate in product reviews only if their name is not associated with a brand at any time and they therefore retain their authority and commercial independence.
  • Must not receive material through a sponsorship or any other association with a company in return for advertizing benefits. It is preferable, to avoid any appearance of conflict of interest and to display complete independence from the brands, to pay for material costs.

 

B. The speakers and employees of The Running Clinic

  • Shall not receive any benefit, in the form of remuneration, services or products relating to running from any company. This provision includes but is not limited to footwear, medical or sports equipment, clothing and food products.
  • Can evaluate running related products on various platforms (magazines, digital media, television, etc.) for analysis purposes. However, they agree to maintain their authority and commercial independence by respecting the following ethical provisions.
  1. Criticism must be sharp and be based on scientific knowledge.
  2. Membership must be clear and made in the name of The Running Clinic. Individuals cannot dissociate themselves from The Running Clinic by producing, for example, a personal opinion.
  3. Authors may not have any commercial bias relating to the product and they must mention this in each publication, regardless of the communication medium (eg. "Blaise Dubois and The Running Clinic have no commercial bias relating to footwear."). Note that the product can be loaned or sold at production cost.
  4. A speaker who has already been associated with a brand, before being a partner of The Running Clinic, will not be able to continue evaluating these products.

 

C. The ambassadors and the professionals accredited by The Running Clinic

  • Enjoy complete freedom as to their opinions and actions, as well as their full responsibility. They can receive paid or non-monetary benefits at any time, provided they consent to them in a personal capacity.
  • No suggested or direct affiliation with The Running Clinic should appear to support the promotion of a product or the expertise underlying its advertizing representation. Therefore, the title of ambassador or accredited professional (Expert, Certified+ or Certified) cannot be used as an authoritative argument to comment or recommend a product. This category includes but is not limited to footwear, medical or sports equipment, clothing and food products.
