Achilles tendon problems and shin splints are very common in short and lond-distance runners. One of the best ways to treat these injuries is to strengthen the calf and Achilles tendon with "calf raises" and "heel drop" exercises.
Taping medial tibial stress syndrome (shin splints)
Here are two different taping techniques for shin splints. The first one, circular, is very supportive and can be used for tibial and fibular stress fracture (typically lower in the leg) as well as for shin splints. The second one, less supportive, is ideal for more upper leg shin splints, or for lower leg shin splints with lower levels of symptoms.
