Various studies have shown that training less often results in an increased risk of musculoskeletal injuries. Most tissues respond better to small, repeated stimuli. Biomechanical learning and adaptation processes are facilitated through more frequent stimuli. In other words, shorter, more frequent runs are preferable to longer, more sporadic sessions.
