Andrew received his BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy from Keele University in 1997 and following this commenced work within the private sector providing specialist sports injury consultation for athletes and patients. He developed specialist skills and formed part of a biomechanical assessment team which offered innovative biomechanical analysis, musculoskeletal screening and rehabilitation solutions to elite sports clients from UK Athletics, Premier League Football, Premier League Rugby and English Cricket Board and County Cricket squads. . Active Therapy provide bespoke gait analysis and physical competence assessment across a range of sports and work closely with athletes and coaches of all levels to improve movement efficiency and performance for sport.
He has provided consultancy services to UK Athletics, The Lawn Tennis Association, The FA and Loughborough University offering specialist physiotherapy treatment, musculoskeletal screening, injury prevention programmes and education to athletes and coaching groups. Andrew was lead physiotherapist for Triathlon and Athletics at Loughborough University and has experience treating all levels of athlete from International to recreational standard. Andrew has provided sports physiotherapy services at events such as the Loughborough International and the London Marathon.
Andrew is former Head of Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine at Hearts FC, Edinburgh successfully managing the medical service and being part of the team which won the Scottish Cup and qualification to compete in both Champions League and UEFA cup football.
Recognised as a CSP media representative on sports physiotherapy Andrew has provided expert editorial advice to publications such as Runners World, national newspapers and radio.
Andrew is currently a consultant physiotherapy lecturer to the PGA and has previously provided coach education seminars for UK Athletics and The RFU.
Andrew operates two successful physiotherapy and sports injury clinics at The Chase Health Club and Lichfield Golf & Country Club. Andrew is trained to provide injection therapy and musculoskeletal ultrasound during assessment and treatment of clients. Andrew has recently completed an MSc and is a Kinetic Control accredited physiotherapist. He is an AACP accredited acupuncturist and certified kinesiotaping therapist and instructor.
